Assalamualaikum and greetings. I'm a student in one of the top universities in Malaysia and currently undergoing foundation studies in life science.
I came from a small city in the Land of Borneo. I'm from M40 family with 6 siblings. I was an introvert and liked staying in my comfort zone but last March I got flying colours in SPM and decided to pursue my studies in a renowned public university far away from home. And my dream came true. I finally enrolled last June and currently staying in Kuala Lumpur. A lot of people might question this, why did I choose somewhere so far from home despite having financial constraints. This might sound cliche and childlike but I've been wanting to get out of my comfort zone and venture different possibilities. I've since met with many incredible and amazingly talented peers that have supported me here and managed to get rid of my severe homesickness. I'm so thankful for them even when it was the first time we met yet they were very nice to me.
I realised that at some point, my parents are going to have difficulties in giving me an allowance. To give a heads up, I asked the help of my state's to fund my study fees as I could not ask for PTPTN. I was not able to secure any scholarships, therefore, I had to support myself and depend on my monthly allowance. For foundations students we arent allowed to have part-time jobs and due to my everyday schedule which is 8 am to 5 pm, I would not be able to allocate time for part-time jobs. My parents were not able to constantly give me allowance hence why I require an amount of RM1800 to support my living cost for these 2 semesters(10 months).
Daily expenses:
Rm1800/8=RM225
Food=RM200/month
Luckily, I’m staying in the dorm so no fee needed to pay every month. The rest of the money will be used to buy notes and basic necessities such as stationeries, toiletry products, emergency and etc.
All of the donations will be able to lift off the financial burden and help me to focus more on my studies. I'm hoping to become a doctor right after I graduated and strive to become someone who can contribute and give back to society.
I would like to say thank you to everyone who has donated and I appreciate each and everyone that has helped me on my journey to success. I wish for eternal blessings for everyone. Thank you.
